Twin Cities Java User Group (TCJUG) Meeting Scheduled

by | May 29, 2018

It’s been a long wait for the members of the Twin Cities Java User Group (TCJUG) but we finally have an upcoming event on the calendar! Thanks to Suyash Joshi of Oracle, and a supporter of local JUG meetups, for reaching out recently. He’ll be in town for a conference and will be stopping by Intertech for a TCJUG meetup.

The title of his talk is: Developing Intelligent Indoor Location Aware Mobile Apps Using Beacons for Android Java Developers

Location based apps are getting more and more sophisticated, beacon support on Android has opened up many possibilities. In his talk, you will learn how to create a “Geo Fence” in order to track and deliver contextual information for the user when around. He will walk through the process from scratch to create a simple Android based application using Java that connects with Beacons nearby and communicated over REST to Mobile Cloud Services and delivering notifications to users.

He also enjoys juggling and performing magic tricks!

Our doors here at Intertech open at 5:15 for pizza, refreshments, and socializing so come early. Here are all the details:

Friday, June 8, 2018
