This complex case study involves a global medical systems company that sought to create an entirely new application that would act as the central hub for all of its other supplementary services. To make this happen, the medical systems company contacted Intertech and its senior consulting team. With Intertech’s development consultants at their side, the client’s development team was able to produce the new application while becoming more efficient and organized in the process.
""Scott has been a pleasure to work with and an integral member of our team over the past few months. I’ve had several people ask me if we could hire him." - Medical Systems Company Employee"
The client decided to refactor all of the medical imaging applications made by its numerous subsidiaries by creating a core service on top of which all applications would be created. This core service handles a wide variety of functions including all security, storage, session handling, and launching of these applications within a multi-tier enterprise architecture. Applications build upon the core service, including more than one hundred applications from simple desktop based software, zero footprint web applications, to state of the art medical diagnostic tools which could perform live analysis of a beating heart.
This project’s procedure involved the cooperation of Intertech’s senior Java consultants with a brilliant, but young development team. Intertech’s consultants provided assistance in performing design, project estimation, and evaluation of new technical options as well as day to day coding responsibilities. Leading through example and providing supportive mentoring, our senior consultants were able to help the client’s development team produce a product more quickly and of higher quality.
Resulting from the hard work and cooperation between our consultants and the client’s young development team was the ability for all applications built upon this new platform to now be used in treating life threatening conditions by doctors – in places as far away as Japan. This platform is a key component to the longer term success of multiple companies around the world who build medical imaging applications. The entirety of the project’s success will lead to the Medical Systems Company’s increased productivity and efficiency, while maintaining proper organization and security. It may even aid in saving the lives of many more in the near future.
From the day it was founded in 1991 by local entrepreneur Tom Salonek, Intertech has been a company with an important difference: unwavering commitment to customers, employees and the broader community through excellent work, smart workplace and financial management, and creative philanthropic involvement.
