Created in 2001 in Belgium, Devoxx is a European Java conference, held in multiple countries, sometimes more than once per year. DevoxxUK is the British version of the conference, hosted by the London Java Community, and I attended the recent conference and wanted to share my experience. DevoxxUK is substantially smaller than JavaOne, but has many similar sessions and presenters, and the size provides a better opportunity to meet/greet the presenters, many of whom are Java Champions. I'm also a member of the JavaOne Review Group, responsible for vetting proposals for multiple tracks (Cloud, Agile, and Server-Side), and I'll discuss some of the focus areas I saw and how it clearly aligns with presentations at DevoxxUK
