Our client on this project, a leading mortgage services firm, is a publicly-traded integrated mortgage company that originates, finances and services residential mortgages. The client's operational excellence, financial strength, and commitment to technology have positioned the firm as a leading provider in the emerging housing finance market. This mortgage services firm turned to Intertech to build an interactive application for its employees that would drive profits and results. Intertech's philosophy for the project was 'Ordering a loan from the mortgage firm should be as easy as ordering a book from Amazon'. Intertech delivered an innovative website application for the mortgage services firm that simplified and streamlined relationships with Brokers, thus generating even more profit for the firm.
As a leading mortgage firm that handles a large amount of loan applications, there comes a certain amount of financial risk. The firm turned to Intertech to build an interactive application for its brokers to measure the amount of financial risk that the loans carry. Additionally, the mortgage agency looked to provide its Brokers the ability to monitor their pipeline with filtering criteria capabilities.
To help fuel this goal, Intertech leveraged an Agile development process for this project. Our Agile process involved short 2-week projects, called Sprints, where we define the feature & functionality to be delivered in the next Sprint. At the end of each Sprint we are able to demonstrate the software to the customer for feedback.
Intertech built a responsive single page for the clients to monitor their pipelines with simplicity. The application also provides a full suite of loan management capabilities. The user experience allows a client to manage a loan through its full lifecycle, all the way from registration through post-closing. The solution is hosted in Windows Azure to provide high availability, ease of management and excellent speed. This provides a competitive advantage as the mortgage firm’s clients find it easy to do business with the mortgage firm, generating more profit and better industry recognition for the firm. Additionally, Intertech delivered a modern and responsive mobile-first user experience for the customer’s clients to manage their pipeline of mortgage loans. This enabled the Customer’s clients the ability to order, manage, and close loans in a simple and effective manner from any platform. This user experience was created through BizTalk orchestrations. The BizTalk orchestrations engine included business rules using Inrule. This enabled the flow of data between the client, originators, and credit agencies, providing timely and analyzed information. The data is then consumed by underwriters and others within the firm so that they can make much faster and more informed decisions around purchasing or funding a mortgage.
