SK Mobile is the largest on-line music portal in Korea. At first glance, MelOn functions much like iTunes, but was actually one of the first services to embrace the concept of ubiquitous music delivered to any device. SK Mobile came to Intertech seeking assistance in moving their current prototype, m.melon.com, to a jQuery Mobile and HTML5 solution. Great emphasis was placed on visual transitions between list views and page navigation. Then, due to Appleʼs iconic page turn being trademarked halfway through the project, our developers had to adjust the album view transition style to look less like the Appleʼs. Most companies would have had to extend the deadline to make up for “lost work”, due to the trademark issues. Intertech, however, was able to deliver a solution on time and within budget.
Intertechʼs work resulted in a smooth transition for SK mobile from a prototype to a working music platform service using jQuery and HTML5. We were able to deliver a successful project on time and within budget, even when unforsen circumstances arose.
