Intertech was contacted by a customer that was in need of a technology update. The worldwide design and manufacture company needed a way to maintain and grow its customer base. With the help of Intertech’s consulting team, the company acquired a new application that greatly aided their current activities and future progress.
The customer’s products were falling behind due to technology enhancements that their competition was adding to their products. In order to keep up with their competitors, the client needed to update their system management. They were using an outdated GUI (Graphical User Interface) that did not offer their customers the user experience and functionality they desired. The previous version required the user to have an extensive knowledge of the internal settings of each product in order to configure them into a system. What the client wanted was something that was operable by almost any of their customers, making configuring a product simple and effortless.
Intertech’s team of consultants, using the standard Scrum process, created the new GUI for the company’s next generation of products. This GUI allowed for custom settings of their new products and allowed customers to manage the devices much more efficiently and with less of a learning curve. The new version also allowed the configuration to be completed graphically, which was easier to comprehend and eliminated several steps in the process.
What stemmed from the team’s work was a Microsoft WPF and C++ application. The application was developed to connect to devices using the client’s Serial and USB drivers. The graphical configuration portions of the application utilized GoXam’s controls for WPF. Overall, this project helped the company earn a significant competitive advantage over its competitors and create a base technology that allows for easier additions of future enhancements.
From the day it was founded in 1991 by local entrepreneur Tom Salonek, Intertech has been a company with an important difference: unwavering commitment to customers, employees and the broader community through excellent work, smart workplace and financial management, and creative philanthropic involvement.
