Project Requirements
The customer’s products were falling behind due to technology enhancements that their competition added to their products. To keep up with their competitors, the client needed to update their management system. They were using an outdated GUI (Graphical User Interface) that did not offer their customers the user experience and functionality they desired. The previous version required the user to have extensive knowledge of each product’s internal settings to configure them into a system. The client wanted something that was operable by almost any of their customers, making configuring a product simple and effortless.
Result
What stemmed from the team’s work was a Microsoft WPF and C++ application connected to various devices using the client’s Serial and USB drivers. The graphical configuration portions of the application utilized GoXam’s controls for WPF. With the help of Intertech’s consulting team, the company acquired a new application that greatly aided their current activities and future progress.
Overview
To keep up with their competition, the client needed to update their management system, which is what Intertech did. Using the standard Scrum process, Intertech’s team of consultants created the new GUI for the company’s next generation of products. This GUI allowed for custom settings of their new products and allowed customers to manage the devices much more efficiently and with less of a learning curve. The new version also allowed the configuration to be completed graphically, which was easier to comprehend and eliminated several steps in the process. Overall, this project helped the company earn a significant competitive advantage over its competitors and create a base technology that allows for easier additions of future enhancements.
