Interactive Application That Measures The Financial Risk of Each Loan Request And Makes Ordering A Loan Easier Than The Competition’s Lending Process
Project Requirements
There is a certain amount of financial risk in being a leading mortgage lending firm. Needing a reliable resource to work with, the firm turned to Intertech to build an interactive application for its brokers that would measure the amount of financial risk of each loan requested. Additionally, the mortgage agency required that the application additionally provide its brokers with the ability to monitor their pipeline while filtering criteria capabilities.
Result
Intertech delivered an innovative application with a full suite of loan management capabilities for the mortgage services firm that simplified and streamlined relationships with Brokers, generating even more profit for the firm, meeting each requirement and business objective of the project.
Overview
To help fuel this goal, Intertech leveraged an Agile development process for this project. The Agile process involved short 2-week sprints while delivering and then defining the feature & functionality to be delivered in the next Sprint. At the end of each Sprint Intertech demonstrated the software to the customer for feedback before launch.
Making sure the technology used was compatible with their IT department’s requirements, the solution was hosted in Windows Azure to provide high availability, ease of management and excellent speed.
This user experience was created through BizTalk orchestrations. The BizTalk orchestrations engine included business rules using Inrule; enabling a clean flow of data between the client, originators, and credit agencies, providing timely and analyzed information and the ability for the underwriters and others within the firm to make much faster and more informed decisions around purchasing or funding of each mortgage.
The result provided the client’s customers the ability to manage a loan through its full lifecycle, all the way from registration through post-closing, making it easier for the customer, while generating more profit and better industry recognition for the firm.

David Brenner
As CFO, Dave Brenner provides financial leadership to the firm’s stakeholders and employees, overseeing everything from billing, receivables, and payables to business insurance, payroll, and taxes. He’s also responsible for policies and procedures related to healthcare, 401k, HSA, and other benefits. Before joining Intertech in 2004, Dave was Finance Manager at Best Buy, where he designed and implemented accounting and finance processes to support the company’s newly created in-home networking division. Earlier, he held positions at Hewlett-Packard and Delta (Northwest Airlines).
Dave’s philosophy is practical. It’s not what you make; it’s what you keep, borrowing from the title of a popular personal finance management book. “I’m all about enlightened, solid financial management, both personally and in my role as CFO at Intertech.
