Intertech Philanthropy: Making a difference in our communities

Grants and scholarships. Volunteerism. Employee matching gifts. These are just some of the ways Intertech gives back to the communities where we live, work and serve our customers. As a technology company, we are particularly interested in lending our support through our scholarship to young people with an interest in computer science.  We also realize that not all young people can look forward to a bright future, which is why, since its founding in 2003, our Intertech Foundation has provided financial support to over 100 families with terminally ill children. We work closely with Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest to provide funds directly to families in need.

Intertech Foundation

Tom and Linda Salonek formed a non-profit 501(c)(3) private foundation, Intertech Foundation, in late 2003 to provide financial support to families with terminally ill children. Its charter calls for grants to Minnesota families with terminally ill children who need financial assistance to fulfill last wishes for children, as well as help with costs associated with respite care, hospital, and funeral expenses. The Foundation also supports computer science students through its annual STEM scholarship.

Intertech Foundation STEM Scholarship Grant

The Intertech Foundation awards a yearly scholarship grant to college-bound high school students who have excelled in the areas of science and math and are wanting to pursue computer science in their college studies. For more information on the grant, please see our  STEM scholarship page.

For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST)

In the past, the Intertech Foundation supported the FIRST www.usfirst.org mission to inspire young people "to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership."
