Thank you to those of you that were able to attend our recent Oxygen Blast about the changes with SSIS 2012/2014. The webinar was presented by Davin Mickelson, one of our Senior Trainers.

You can read the full description of what the presentation entailed on the Oxygen Blast page. In brief, here are a main areas Davin covered:

  • How Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) has become SQL Server Data Tools for Business Intelligence (SSDT-BI).
  • The upgraded designer with new features such as the new Parameters tab, new Control Flow and Data Flow capabilities, and some of the much needed bug fixes (finally!).
  • The new SSIS deployment model.
  • Features which are no longer supported by the newest versions of SSIS, such as support for DTS 2000 packages.

Davin also introduced a new, shorter 2-day SSIS course he’ll be teaching in August. Check out details on the course page. For other training or project inquiries, go to our SQL Training and SQL Consulting pages.
