Sr. ServiceNow Software Engineer. Remote long-term contract. Must be a US Citizen for this client
To support this mission, OSIT has embarked on a multi-year modernization journey, within which the Sr. Software Engineer will play a key role: working within our legacy application as we update it to a cloud-native platform which follows modern design standards.
- Designs, codes, tests and debugs applications and components that meet all technical specifications and business requirements per assigned work items.
- Works closely with lead engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development.
- Collaborates closely with Product Analysts on developing requirements and may assist with estimating.
- Instills best practices for software development and documentation, assures designs meet requirements, and delivers high-quality work on tight schedules.
- Translates business requirements into technical solutions, recommends alternative technical and business approaches, and leads engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions.
- Operational Excellence – building, deploying, monitoring, and operation of production services.
- Mentors other software engineers.
- Leads engineering efforts for their feature team.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- 5+ years’ experience in full lifecycle of software development projects in an agile environment.
- Recent hands-on technical expertise in ServiceNow areas:
- Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) and Security Operations (SecOps).
- IT Operations Management (CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management)
- Experience with developing Custom applications.
- Experience with Automated Test Framework (ATF).
- Experience with Flow Designer.
- Experience leading a ServiceNow development project.
- Experience mentoring other software engineers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or related field or related field or 7 years’ relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- ServiceNow Application Developer Certification.
- Completed ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals (SNAF).
- Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure and automated provisioning & configuration management.
- Basic understanding of networking and internet protocols.

- Customer Service Management
- IT Service Management
