Project Scope
We are looking for a mechanical design engineer to support multiple product development projects, starting immediately. The work will focus on specialized desktop inkjet printers for prosumer, B2B, and industrial markets. In many cases, proof-of-concept models already exist, and the primary task will be refining and advancing these designs for manufacturing.
Requirements
- 5+ years of mechanical design engineering experience
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Experience with printer mechanisms, precision mechanical systems, or similar electromechanical products
- Strong understanding of design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA)
- Availability of approximately 20–40 hours per week
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with sheet metal design, plastic injection molding, or printing/imaging equipment
- Knowledge of thermal management in electronic equipment
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements (UL, CE, etc.)
Estimated Rate Ranges, negotiable:
1099/C2C – $75-$95
W2 – $60-$77
