1. DZone

At DZone, you are given a massive collection of resources such as blog posts, tutorials, code snippets, and much more – all posted by a community of over 750,000 technology professionals from around the world. This is a great resource for finding original and useful user-submitted content. .

2. Web Code Geeks

This developer website is a hub for web developers to create a web-focused resource center. It focuses on articles, tutorials, reviews, and open source projects targeted at the entire web development community – senior developers and junior developers alike. Topics include ASP.NET, cloud computing, JavaScript, Python, and much more. This resource center should have what you need for up-to-date web related content.

3. Java Code Geeks

Java Code Geeks is virtually the exact same thing as Web Code Geeks, only centered around Java instead of web development. Some subjects included in this community are JVM languages, Agile, Android, and almost anything else Java related. Just like Web Code Geeks, they continue to offer Java related content every day.

4. The Next Web

As a news source that has a concentration on the updates surrounding Internet technology, The Next Web provides a vast assortment of content. TNW does a great job at keeping you informed on the things that matter most in the world of tech.

5. InfoQ

InfoQ says that their purpose is to “facilitate the spread of knowledge and innovation in professional software development,” and they do just that. As one of our developers’ favorite development resources, we look to them for great unbiased articles, tutorials, and videos on mobile, JavaScript, cloud, .NET, and several other technologies.

6. Smashing Magazine

For all things Web design and development, look no further than Smashing Magazine. Their authors are constantly pumping out quality web related content. Utilize their materials to generate new ideas and further your web design and development abilities.

7. Scrum Alliance

Being the leading influential professional membership organizations in the Agile community, Scrum Alliance is the only source you need for Scrum and Agile content. As a nonprofit organization, they are dedicated to educating those who use the Agile Methodology.

8. DeveloperTech

DeveloperTech is a center for content across the applications industry. They provide resources like news, blogs, strategies, and advice from leading brands and experts. If you are looking for everything developer related, check out this site.

9. JavaWorld

This developer website is packed full of how-to articles and blog articles that are useful to Java developers, architects, and managers. Even as a smaller website, the people at JavaWorld never fail to deliver useful content. (Sorry, Java World does not utilize their Twitter account.)

10. Reddit

Reddit is a source for everything. Nicknamed “the front page of the internet”, Reddit has endless things called “subreddits” where users submit content related to that specific subreddit. For example, if you visit the subreddit called r/Android, you will see content all related to the Android software. All content is voted on by users, so you only see quality material (most of the time).

11. Channel 9

Channel 9 is a subsidiary of MSDN that is constantly facilitating the Microsoft community’s interaction. It is a place where developers contribute with blogs, comments, and great videos – all contributing to the growth and expansion of its followers. Here you’ll find everything on Microsoft including topics like .NET, Azure, and Windows.

12. W3Schools

“W3Schools is a web developer’s site, with tutorials and references on web development languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, and JQuery, covering most aspects of web programming.” With one of the largest libraries of free online tutorials, this site should always be in a new developer’s bookmarks. The site has great beginner tutorials, but if you are looking for more advanced help, you’d be better off elsewhere.

13. Stack Overflow

Need an answer to your development question? Head over to Stack Overflow (a site you probably already know about). This is the place to go if you are looking for detailed answers to your development questions. Consisting of only questions and answers, Stack Overflow is voter based just like Reddit. Answers are ranked by the community so you know what answers are typically best.
