A large energy and agriculture corporation engaged Intertech to modernize its technology stack, implement agile, and help make technology decisions for growth. Our expert Intertech consultants worked in the client’s offices to create new applications and set up a continuous integration and automated deployment framework. As a result, the client can now rollout new software and updates in the middle of a work day with minimal impact to its business. Intertech has helped the client reduce risk, increase efficiency, and prepare for the future.
Intertech has helped accelerate our technology stack modernization efforts and our thinking processes around product development. Intertech’s versatility, professionalism and expertise has quickly made them a key partner in our success.
A corporation supporting well over 100 custom applications, the client turned to Intertech for help modernizing the applications and its approach to software development. Many of those applications had aged to the point of needing to be replaced. In addition, the client needed assistance streamlining their internal development process and implementing an agile philosophy for their dev team.
Updating the client’s process and myriad of applications was a challenge enough. However, the client also needed the modernization to not disrupt daily business operations at its offices around the world. They wanted to roll out frequent updates with minimal impact on uptime.
Intertech’s relationship with the client began with our expert consultant, Tim Star, helping the client implement agile development methodologies for their internal team. Tim came on board as a scrum master, leading the implementation and adoption of agile.
Working with the client, Intertech supported the client’s choice of Angular for the front end and .NET Core for the backend logic of new applications. Intertech also leveraged a microservice architecture for shared assets that are being used by other applications. Our consultants ensured the model application architecture could support unit testing, and the release pipeline executes these tests before automated deployment to production.
Three of our consultants worked full time at the client’s offices. They integrated with several of the client’s development teams on 3 different applications and provided on the ground support to push all of the applications closer to the new model architecture.
The new continuous integration and deployment pipeline that Intertech recommended and helped implement allows the client to deploy new code to production in the middle of a workday with little to no disruption.
The result of Intertech’s consulting is a more efficient rollout process for new updates. The client can now update their applications with greater frequency and fewer errors, even during normal working hours.
Our Intertech consultants provided both code expertise and high-level business thinking about technology decisions to help the client’s head of technology make sound decisions about new technologies. The technology change consulting focused on reducing risk while planning for future growth.
